It comes from the fact that my sisters and I (the girls in the comic) are all really short, only about 5 feet tall. Nahni and I were joking one day saying that we had been 'pygme-fied,' meaning like the pygme bush people of Africa. That transformed into "pig-meh-fah" as we said it more times, as things tend to when you're being silly
